Enjoy Five Bite-Sized, Slightly Sarcastic Answers, To Those Questions You've Always Wanted To Know...

I own and manage a creative comms agency and there are a few questions that are commonly asked when I'm onboarding a new client.

Because you and I are in the sassiest corner of the internet, I thought I'd share these with you...

Q. How can I turn those who ask to "pick my brain" into customers/clients?

You can't. Don't bother.

These time-wasters can exit stage left.

Rather than chasing people who already don't value your expertise, channel your energy into finding those who do.

Q. People always tell me my brand/product/service is amazing...but they never actually buy. What's wrong with me?

There is nothing wrong with you, but there is probably something amiss with your marketing. Maybe your price point is whack, or perhaps there are too many barriers to purchase...

Start from scratch and refresh your approach.

Q. Should I do free consults?

You're a busy professional, so market yourself as one, not as a soul-sucking, multi-level marketer.

Truth be told, free consults are not my fave.

A far more efficient way to connect with possible customers or clients is by holding a masterclass. One masterclass, at a scheduled time, that multiple people can book into.

Q. I feel like I'm making content for contents sake. Should I keep going?

You need to be consistent, but you should only be creating content on the platforms that are of benefit to you or your brand.

For example, you'll never see me selling my lukewarm bathwater on OnlyFans.

But you might see me on TikTok explaining why I think Kim K and Pete are a PR relationship.

Q. If I hire a publicist, will I automatically get media coverage, and then make sales?

If I buy a lotto ticket, will I automatically win the lotto?

There’s your answer.
